Lior Hadad

Ceramicist & Writer

Ceramicist. Wrote her way out of therapy and into a kiln.

Lior trained as a clinical psychologist before her hands took her elsewhere. She makes small ceramic vessels in a coastal town in northern Spain and writes here on patience, attention, and what the body knows that the mind has not yet caught up to. She came to the AYA Method late, around the time she stopped needing to be right. The clinic years still show in her writing — she knows the research on habit and self-talk, and she carries it lightly, the way she carries a finished bowl. But it was the kiln that taught her the lesson she keeps returning to: you do everything with care and then you close the door, and what happens next is partly heat, partly time, and not entirely yours. She finds that a truer picture of intention than anything she learned in training. Her essays move between the studio and the practice — wedging clay as attention work, the glaze that only shows its color after firing, the daily audio listened to with muddy hands while the wheel slows. She writes for the readers who arrive skeptical, because she was one: her advice is modest, testable, and allergic to grand claims. Her recurring theme is the long game — pots, like selves, are made in layers, and the maker who rushes the drying learns the same lesson every time, in pieces.

Writes about: embodiment, patience, manifestation.
